Message from Director

Welcome to Localise. This is a very exciting and positive time for our organisation, as our Localise Programmes have recently experienced substantial growth. Localise’s central message of engaging young people in the service of others is as crucial and important today as it ever was.

We challenge young people from all backgrounds and walks of life to get directly involved in the service of their community, and to use their time and skills in order to help others.

At the beginning of this year, a group of manufacturing engineering students from the Dublin Institute of Technology in Dublin 1, through the Localise Program, gained firsthand experience of the real benefits that can be achieved by positive community action. Using their engineering skills, they worked on practical projects in the service of a disadvantaged youth centre in Dublin’s north inner city. Their work had a direct positive impact on the young people using this centre and provided key financial savings within a disadvantaged area. This is just one of many examples of how our young people in schools, communities and universities make a real contribution to the lives of others through their involvement with Localise Programmes.
